Baking Day

Today Asher's Mum, Mindy, came to help us make pumpkin pie. We know that pumpkin is a fruit so we made a dessert with it. We were also able to put our new learning about fractions into practice as we had to measure 1/4 teaspoons of spices and 1/2 cups of milk and cream.
We all had a taste of the pie and some of us even came back for seconds. Not everyone liked it though.
A big THANK YOU to Mindy for sharing your pumpkin pie recipe with us.

The Pumpkin Pie
As part of our topic on Growing Plants we are growing grass heads. We have started a diary so we can keep track of what happens and how long it takes for the grass to grow. Come in and check out our grass heads. Some children still need to bring in a jar before they can make their grass head. Please send a jar with a smaller opening so the head does not fall into the jar.

Tie a knot in the stocking
Fill the jar with water

Put the Grass Head in the jar
